We are looking for an experienced Senior Innovation Manager who has a great passion for dermatology and skin care products, and who will actively drive the future development of our Derma portfolio with strong international brands such as ACO, Canoderm, Miniderm, Biodermal, Emolium, Dermalex and Lactacyd among others.

As a Senior Innovation Manager, you will be responsible for the 360° development of skin care products, from idea and concept generation all the way to industrialization, claim substantiation/clinical studies and technical support.  

You will work both with Cosmetics and Medicated skincare, but with emphasis on our pharma & medical device products. In your daily work you secure and deliver on the long-term new product development (NPD) pipeline, by initiating and leading internal & external development projects, as well as actively seeking and evaluation external product concepts. You lead & prioritize the work of the cross-functional, international category team, as well as a team of two Scientific Advisors that will report directly to you. Work is conducted in an international environment in close collaboration with external laboratories and suppliers as well as cross-functional departments within the company, such as marketing, packaging, formulation, regulatory, quality and supply chain. You will work both with our internal manufacturing sites as well as with external manufacturing & development partners. 

Specific Responsibilities Include 

• Translate the latest trends in Dermatology into innovative propositions for new products by internal development or by seeking licenses or new formulas from external partners 

• Lead the category work pro-actively, to deliver on NPD and maintenance projects. 
  
  
• Identify, evaluate and validate external NPD opportunities. 
  
  
• Set-up new projects, defining the scope and align on time planning with stakeholders 
  
  
• Scientific & technical documentation incl. writing parts of pharma CTD dossiers and MDR technical files 
  
  
• Provide clinical support to the other functions & affiliates for the product portfolio.
   
• Market surveillance: technology, research, product & formulation related  
  
  
• Manage the Innovation budget for Medicated Skincare 

Required experience: 

• PhD in Pharmacy, Science or Engineering, preferable cosmetic chemistry or similar required, or similar by experience 

• Five years’ experience in product development or scientific support of dermatology products 
  
  
• Experience in topical Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices and/or cosmetics 
  
  
• Good track record of project management 
  
  
• Documented experience in people management 
  
  
• Excellent written and verbal skills in English 

Meritorious:

• Experience in clinical study design 
  
  
• Previous experience in successfully developing and launching topical Pharmaceuticals
  
  
• Knowledgable about skin diseases related to weakened skin barrier, e.g. atopic eczema
  
  
• Existing relationship network with dermatologists

The position is part of the Derma Excellence Center in Kista, Stockholm. The team consists of 23 persons within the roles of Formulation Scientists, Innovation Managers, Packaging Developers, Project Managers and Scientific Advisors.
