What will you do?

We are looking for a Senior Function Developer within Vehicle Dynamics to work with our clients in Gothenburg. In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced vehicle functions related to suspension control and vehicle dynamics.

You will be part of a highly skilled team working with complex end-user functions, taking them from concept and design to implementation, testing, and verification. The work spans the full development cycle and includes both simulation-based development and hands-on vehicle testing.

Your expertise will contribute to developing optimized, reusable and user-friendly solutions while strengthening the organization’s technical knowledge and supporting the delivery of high-quality products through efficient development processes.

Your role

As a Function Developer, you will be involved in both development and maintenance of advanced vehicle functions. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to innovate new features, implement them, and verify their performance both in simulation and on vehicle level.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Requirement specification and logic design breakdown
• Development and implementation of new features and software updates
• Simulation and development testing
• Vehicle-level testing, tuning and troubleshooting of functionality
• Verification of functions on unit level and complete vehicle level
• Participation in advanced engineering projects exploring new technology concepts
• Supporting functional safety work
• Contributing to continuous knowledge growth and improved development processes

Your profile

We believe you are a curious and driven engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges. You take responsibility for your work, collaborate easily with others and thrive in environments where learning and innovation are part of everyday work.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

• M.Sc. in Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics or similar
• 5+ years of experience in function development or similar roles
• Strong knowledge within control engineering, mechatronics and mechanical systems
• Experience working with Matlab/Simulink
• Understanding of embedded systems and software development
• A valid driver’s license B or higher

Technical experience

Experience with the following tools and technologies is considered an advantage:

• C/C++ development
• CANoe and CANalyzer
• Vector DaVinci
• GIT
• SystemWeaver
• Rapid prototyping and systems development principles
• Knowledge of Volvo development tools and architecture
• Experience with ISO 26262 and functional safety
